The decision to cancel tennis star Novak Djokovic’s visa has been overturned by the Federal Circuit Court yesterday.
Djokovic’s parents took to social media saying his human rights were taken away and he was “tortured” while he was detained.
As a result of this, many people have taken to social media to thank the tennis star for exposing the conditions of Australian detention centres. One user wrote “Glad Djokovic is exposing the Australian Government’s treatment of the trapped asylum seekers.”
Djokovic announced he will still participate in the upcoming Australian Open.
