Aged care homes across the nation are being devastated by the current wave of COVID, with more than 1,100 outbreaks affecting over 7,000 residents and staff.
As homes lock down, residents suffer the serious physical and psychological effects of isolation and inadequate care due to major staff shortages.
It remains unclear how the few recommendations of the royal commission adopted by the government are being implemented and there is little reported of the situations at many aged care homes currently locked down.
