Ex-Tropical Cyclone Seth has had a lasting impact on QLD’s coastline, with large swells buffeting Bribie Island’s northern tip, splitting the island in two.

High tides and huge seas that were driven by the ex-tropical cyclone carved a passage through the northern end of the island with an opening that is now 300 metres wide.

Coast Guards have installed two 24hour cameras to monitor the opening as the passage is deemed to be extremely treacherous.
