Airlock Studios was founded in 1996 and is a world-standard recording studio on a bush property in the peaceful surrounds of the Samford Valley on Brisbane’s outskirts. One of the original people that started the studio was Ian Haug (powderfinger/the church/the predators) and his vision of the studio has developed over the last 23 years to what it is today.  The studio continues to attract local, interstate and international clients who come and bunker down. Recording technology has evolved exponentially since 1998, and musicians and engineers can make recordings in their bedroom or anywhere they can take their laptop, but Haug believes a well-equipped professional studio will always play a vital role in bringing the best out of a band or solo artist. Haug knows that great gear is essential to the creative experience, with a wide choice of top-range amplifiers, mics, effects pedals, grand and upright pianos, Wurlitzer electric piano and Hammond organ with Leslie speaker.

If playing live is essential to the sound, bands can play together in the main studio room, eyeball to eyeball or just enjoying the changing light outside as they play. If crafting and layering is just as important, that is at their fingertips too. The studio is based on a 32 I/O Pro Tools HDX System with AMEK Rupert Neve-designed console.

An all-weather deck is a new addition so musicians can recharge and relax between takes. Accommodation is available on-site too.
