The Australian Coalition for Human Rights in the Philippines calls on President Ferdinand R Marcos Jr to be accountable for the human rights violations committed by the Armed Forces of the Philippines. He will join the ASEAN Special Summit in Melbourne from 4-6 March.

Violations under the US-Marcos Jr regime include 795 political prisoners in jails, and aerial and artillery bombings in rural communities where 22,931 (twenty-two thousand, nine hundred and thirty-one) civilians had been victims. The Armed Forces of the Philippines claims for these to be encounters with the New People’s Army.

President R Marcos Jr is urged to abolish the National Task force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict to stop the armed conflict in the Philippines.
