The Indonesian transport ministry announced on Saturday that it would be investigating local airline, Batik Air, after two of its pilots were found to have fallen asleep during a recent flight.

The pilot and co-pilot were both asleep for approximately 28 minutes on a flight carrying 153 passengers from South East Sulawesi to Jakarta on 25 January. This had resulted in some navigation errors during the flight, but all passengers and four flight attendants were unharmed and the plane landed safely.

The pilots involved have been temporarily suspended.
