The raunchy magic show which reveals the true meaning of “keeping it under your hat!"
Two Brisbane boys Mike Tyler and Christopher Wayne have taken the World by storm with their unique twist in magical performances since their first show at the Brisbane Comedy Festival in 2014. They’ve featured on America’s Got Talent, performed at hundreds of cities across the World with even a 100 show residency at the MGM Grand Casino in Las Vegas under their belt by cleverly touting what is under their belt!
The Naked Magicians have returned to Brisbane as part of the 2021 Brisbane Comedy Festival with their first performance since March 2020 due to the pandemic. The Tivoli was packed with an eclectic mix aged from 18 to 80 and surprisingly a lot of couples, even the magician’s parents were in the audience to witness the boys in their birthday suits.
Tyler and Wayne were slick and seductive with a perfected patter to excite and entertain. Their simple magic tricks and sleight of hand were a vehicle for their raunchy comedy as they titillated the audience throughout the night. Their choice of audience participants was also skilled with a good mix of characters, all who were hilarious in their quirky responses. As the night progressed the magicians gradually shunned their suits as the magic became more impressive to prove that ‘good magicians don’t need sleeves and great magicians don’t need pants!’
As the clothes diminished and the buff bodies were revealed Wayne warned the people in the front that they were in the splash zone whipping up a frenzy of excitement. Both had brilliant one liners and were full of ‘come’ backs such as “you remind me of my scout master” as they interacted cleverly with those on and off stage. Naughty blow up dolls, playing cards and scarves were used as props and when the budgie smugglers finally came off they revealed the true meaning of “keeping it under your hat!”
This will be Tyler and Wayne’s final performances as The Naked Magicians when they finish the series in Townsville, Sunshine Coast and Redcliffe with shows selling out fast. Both are planning new ventures with the hilarious show Two Man Tarantino and Big Brother. However, The Naked Magicians show franchise will continue with the hunt about to begin for two new ‘magical members.’
The Naked Magicians were hilarious and professional pushing boundaries with a sleight of the hand and contradicting the phrase that a magician never reveals their secrets. The show will be enjoyed by any adult who doesn’t mind a bit of nudity. The audience bayed and hollered as the show hotted up until the magicians waggled their wands to a spectacular climax!
