On Saturday April 14th,  The Foundry Brisbane had the pleasure of hosting Flowertrucks ‘Mostly Sunny’ Album Tour, with special guests Chakra Efendi and Sleep Club .

Kicking off the night was local Brisbane four piece band Chakra Efendi. Having just recently released their debut single ‘Waste Of Space’ I was eager to see these guys and it was not surprising that they filled all my Chakra needs. These guys have a great charm about them and set ofsome very laid back vibes. Their easy listening songs like ‘Don’t Go’ are perfect for that Sunday afternoon session or that long bus trip home. Keep an eye out for these guys, they'll no doubt be popping up in your newsfeed more often!

The trio Sleep Club were up next, bringing their dreamy guitar tones and soft harmonies. With Monica on lead vocals, Amber on bass guitar and Vanessa on drums, the girls take you on a dream boat ride throughout their whole set. Playing songs like ‘Cut You’ beautifully written about heartbreak and turmoil they have you left feeling confused yet warm and fuzzy all at the same time.

Flowertruck graced the main stage at around 10.30pm will a full house of keen listeners. The band jumped straight in with their first song ‘Komichi’, followed by ‘Falling Asleep’. Watching Charles Rushforth on bass and lead vocals it’s hard not to have a smile on your face, with his comforting smile and bright big eyes gleaming as he plays. The set continued flowing with their notorious nostalgic-like sound with songs like ‘Rain’ and ‘Enough For Now’, filled with tasteful 80s synth throughout. As they came to the end of their set playing one of my personal favourites ‘Come Across’, I was lucky enough to be standing next to their parents in the crowd who had
flown from WA to see them play which filled my heart with joy! Just what was expected and more from a Flowertruck set.
