International Women's Day fun run raises over $1million
Brisbane’s International Women’s Day Fun Run, held yesterday, has raised over 1 million dollars to support women affected by Breast Cancer.
The annual event saw over 13,500 participants in pink shirts walk or run a 6km and 10km course.
Nikita Moore received the day’s fastest time in the 6 kilometer category, running 22 minutes and 37 seconds.
New Coronavirus case in Queensland
One new case of Coronavirus has been confirmed in Queensland.
A 38-year-old woman from the Gympie region has been transferred to an isolation room in the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
The woman recently travelled from London through Dubai. Contact tracing is underway and the community will be notified if any public health alert is required.
Queensland Health is urging anyone who has been overseas in the last 14 days and is feeling unwell to see a doctor immediately.

- The Orielles hail from Halifax, Yorkshire and captured the ears of this reviewer with their debut album from 2018, Silver Dollar Moment. This record showed the band’s gift for charismatic indie pop that adeptly combined C86-esque jangle, serrated choppy riffs a la The Fall and a strikingly percussive element that had parallels with post-punk funk outfits like A Certain Ratio.

Policy-Violating Trump Ads Removed by Facebook
Facebook is removing President Donald Trump’s re-election campaign ads as they violate the company’s policy against misinformation on the government’s census.
The ads asked users to fill out an “Official 2020 Congressional District Census” and also linked to a page asking for donations.
Nicaraguan Human Rights Violations Prompts Further US Sanctions
The United States today has commenced sanctions against the Nicaraguan National Police force in response to human rights abuses in the central American nation.
In a statement the US department of Treasury outlined that the Nicaraguan president Daniel Ortega who has been in office since 2007, has utilized the NNP for the violent suppression of pro-democracy activists and citizenry
Qantas Sanitary Conditions Slammed
Qantas has been issued with an improvement notice by safework New South Wales after inspectors said the airline could potentially be placing passengers at risk of contracting infectious diseases such as coronavirus.
The Safework New-South-Wales report said that employees are required to handle wet and used tissues, used face masks and soiled nappies without the adequate protective equipment to do so.
It was also found that cleaners have been using the same cloths to wipe tray tables and other surfaces.
