Police and SES crews search south-east Brisbane bushland for buried drugs and money suspected to be part of a sophisticated drug trafficking syndicate.

Police used hidden cameras which they alleged capture offenders burying drugs on two properties in Sheldon and Ransome as part of an 18-month investigation.

Four men and women were charged with drug trafficking on Wednesday, and police confirm they had links to the Comancheros bikie gang.

Virgin Australia Unlikely To Object Qantas And American Airlines Partnership

Virgin Australia is unlikely to make a last-ditch attempt to ground a commercial tie-up between Qantas and American Airlines.

The US Department of Transportation approved the partnership this week, allowing the two carriers to run a combined business on the trans-Pacific.

The joint venture will go ahead unless Virgin or other airlines lodge an objection to the partnership before June 17.

Denmark's Prime Minister Lars Loekke Rasmussen Resigns

Right-wing Prime Minister of Denmark, Lars Loekke Rasmussen has resigned following the election which saw a gain for left-wing parties and a loss for populists.

Rasmussen’s resignation leaves the centre-left Social Democrats to attempt to form a one-party minority government.

Votes for the populist Danish People's Party's plummeted to 8.7 per cent, from 21.1 per cent in 2015.

Search For Missing North Queensland Toddler Resumes

The search for the missing toddler in a far North Queensland cattle station, known to be crocodile habitat, resumed at first light today.

Helicopters and drones have been flying over the cattle station where the two-year-old went missing three days ago.

Cape Patrol Inspector Mark Henderson says the search will continue no matter what, since the risks for the toddler’s life increase as time passes.

Australia's Greenhouse Gas Emissions Rise

Recent data shows that Australia’s greenhouse gas emissions continue to rise by 0.8 per cent from the previous quarter.

The data for the December quarter was released by Energy and Emissions Reduction Minister, Angus Taylor yesterday, after missing the parliamentary deadline of last Friday.

Mr Taylor says that Australia can still meet its reduction targets, but Labor calls this a fantasy.

North Queensland Tough Start To Sugar Cane Season

Droughts and flooding in different regions combined with the low global price of sugar has led to a tough start to sugar cane season in North Queensland.

This year’s crop is estimated to decrease by three per cent compared to last year’s 4.7 million tonnes of raw sugar.

CEO of Australian Sugar Milling Council, David Pietsch says unsustainable weather is to blame for this year’s crop being well below the long-term average.

PM Travels to Singapore to Discuss Trade and Economy

Prime Minister, Scott Morrison, will attend the annual leaders meeting in Singapore on Friday to discuss trade and the digital economy.

Morrison will meet with Lee Hsien Loong, Prime Minister of Singapore, about their joint efforts to update e-commerce rules at the World Trade Organisation.
