Potential Changes to Mask Mandate for South-East QLD

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has flagged potential changes to the mask mandate as Queensland edges closer to the 80 per cent single-dose COVID-19 vaccination milestone. 

Currently Residents living in Brisbane, Ipswich, Logan the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast regions are currently subject to the mask mandate.

Booster Vaccine Program Begins Today

The COVID-19 booster vaccination program is set to begin today despite more than 100,000 Australians having already received their third jab. 

The booster vaccination program allows anyone over 18 years old who received their second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine at least six months ago to have a third shot. 

Israel Rejects US Proposal for Consulate

US President Joe Biden's plan to reopen a US consulate for Palestinians in Jerusalem has been rejected by Israel.  

Palestinians, who want East Jerusalem as the capital of a future state, were outraged following former US president Donald Trump, closing the Jerusalem consulate and placing its staff within the US embassy to Israel in 2018. 

QLD Premier Urges Vaccinations Ahead of Border Opening

QLD Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk urges Queenslanders in vacation spots to get vaccinated after two COVID 19 concerns.

Ms Palaszczuk  urged Queenslanders in highly populated tourist spots like the Whitsundays and Cairns to lift their vaccination rates after a tourist travelled to Cairns from Adelaide, prompting urgent contract tracing when confirmed to be infectious in the community. 

Rise in Injured Turtles in Moreton Bay Area

Turtle experts have said dense populations are a possible source for rise in injured turtles with an increase of injured turtles in the Moreton Bay area. 

According to turtle experts, more than 150 turtles have come through Sea World veterinarians and Australia Zoo with injuries resulting from poor water quality, parasites, boat injuries as well as malnutrition.

Environmental activist Kyle Mage faced court on Friday, November 5th after having been held in custody for three day.

The 36 year old father of two was arrested on Tuesday after causing disruption by locking himself to a conveyor belt. 

High Court Ruling Significant for Injured SA Workers

Injured South Australian workers may be entitled to compensation after High Court ruling. 

Former truck driver Shane Summerfield was left permanently injured after a workplace injury but ReturntoWorkSA argued it was not obligated to pay compensation taking the legal case to the High Court where it ruled in Mr Summerfield favour.
