Queensland Central Highlands Flooding

The Central Highlands region of Queensland experienced flash flooding last night, causing great damage to residents' homes. 

In the past forty-eight hours, the catchment experienced an average of a-hundred-and-fifteen millimetres of rain, with areas such as Theresa Creek receiving up to two-hundred-and-seventy millimetres of rain.

2021 Aus Music Day Sets Record

Aus Music T-shirt day hit a new milestone this year, raising more than half a million dollars in donations to help music workers in need. 

The day of awareness was held last Friday and has so far generated a record five-hundred-and-forty-thousand, six-hundred-and-four dollars to help those in the music industry including artists, artist managers, crew and music workers.

Sunshine Coast Couple Combats Habitat Shortage

Sunshine Coast couple Alan and Stacey Franks have been responding to a shortage in tree hollow habitat for native animals by building nesting boxes.

The couple have collaborated with researchers including Queensland Herbarium principal zoologist Geoffrey Smith in order to combat the shortage of habitat for endangered species such as greater gliders and powerful owls.

NSW Town Floods Overnight

Rising floodwaters have turned the small New South Wales community of Wee-Waa into an island overnight.

The community may be cut off for the next ten days while floodwaters recede after the local Namoi river reached a height of 7.07 metres, 37 centimetres higher than predicted.
