Quell: Endless

<span><span>- Quell is an industrial, experimental, ebm / darkwave project out of Naarm / Melbourne. Its stock in trade ranges from eerie soundscapes, through shrieks of grinding metal and other unsettling found sounds to the hallmark crashing electro beats of ebm. This reasonably wide palette is certainly what attracted me to the new EP, <em>Endless </em>and the darkly tinted spectrum paints a ‘tumultuous’ relationship with ‘a man of professional violence’, so I’m told. Well, the tumultuous bit was obvious.</span></span>

NT Euthanasia Laws

CLP senator Sam McMahon has drafted a new bill that may allow the Northern Territory to make its own voluntary euthanasia laws.

She says that this new bill has been a long time coming after the act of assisted dying was overridden by the Commonwealth in 1997. 

New Green Bridge for Olympics

The Brisbane City council has released the final draft for its $67 million Breakfast Creek “Green Bridge” that will connect Newstead into the city’s inner-east. 

The construction is set to begin later this year and is set to be a key link between the planned Hamilton athletes' village and the city for the 2032 Brisbane Olympics.

 

COVID vaccination waiting list

Over 200,000 Queenslanders are on a waitlist to receive the Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccine, with estimation times showing that most won’t receive an invitation to book their appointments until October.

Queensland Health Minister, Yvette D'ath, announced Queensland would receive 84’000 doses of Pfizer in each week of August and 150’000 Astrazeneca doses. 

Brisbane COVID update

Queensland has recorded 19 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours with 16 of those cases having been locally acquired. 

Deputy Premier Steven Miles said in his daily COVID-19 update, that the 16 locally acquired cases have all been linked to the Indooroopilly Delta cluster, which brings the current cluster to 63.
