Biotech Company Aiming to Create a Mammoth Hybrid that Looks like the Woolly Mammoth

Colossal Biosciences, a Dallas-based company, is aiming to create a mammoth hybrid that looks exactly like the woolly mammoth. They have reprogrammed cells from the closest living relative to the mammoth, an Asian elephant. These cells can be used to help the hybrid mammoth grow a a woolly coat and develop other traits that are required to survive in the Arctic. 

Treasurer Announces Removal of 5% Tariff on Imported Goods

Treasurer Jim Chalmers announced Monday morning that the government would remove the 5% tariff applied to nearly 500 imported goods, including items like fridges, pyjamas, as well as menstrual and sanitary products. This is because the tariffs were raising very little money since a series of loopholes had allowed allowed most businesses to gain exemptions.

Rezoning of old suburbs in Sydney questions an erasure of heritage

In an effort to build more homes, the NSW government plans to rezone areas near train stations, where homes have existed since 1890. 

Plans to build 6-storey apartments in place have caused uproar amongst affected residents, especially with some suburbs falling under heritage conservation.

The operation is dedicated to enhancing community safety through high visibility foot patrols, wanding and mobile police vehicle deployments.

Rental rates in Australia hit worst level according to new affordability index

Data from PropTrack shows only houses with an estimated median income of $111,000 annually can afford to rent the smallest property shares.

Low to middle income households, on the other hand, are unable to afford renting if they earn approximately $49,000 per year.
