Jackie Trad sells Woollongabba house
Deputy Premier Jackie Trad has sold the Woolloongabba home that sparked corruption allegations earlier this year.
The $695,000 Woolloongabba home was not declared on the Queensland Parliament’s register for members’ interests within a month as required when the contract was signed in late march.
A spokeswoman for Ms Trad said the house was sold for no more than it had been purchased for.
School fire at Southport
Police are investigating a fire after it destroyed parts of a school at Southport this morning.
Emergency services were called to the school at 2:20am where one of the buildings was fully ablaze.
The fire was brought under control, however the cause of the fire is currently unknown.

Boris Johnson suspend parliament due to Berxit
Days after the Supreme Court ordered MPs to return to work the British Prime Minister is vying to suspend parliament for the week.
This would allow for the Queen’s speech to occur days ahead of the crucial EU summit on October 17th-18th.
In a statement, Mr Johnson says " we will get Brexit done on October 31 and continue delivering on these vital issues.”
The attempt has risen after the UK’s highest court ruled Johnson’s decision to prorogue parliament for five weeks unlawful.
Hong Kong protesters destroyed metro stations
Hong Kong protesters have destroyed metro stations as school students rallied against police after an officer fired a live round at a teenage protesters.
The 18-year-old was struck in the chest but remains in a stable condition
Police have said the officer who fired the live shot was under serious threat and acted in self-defence in accordance with official guidelines.
More than a hundred others were injured during the violence, including dozens of officers.
Contaminated water leaks in Gold Coast
Contaminated water is spilling from a Gold Coast luxury estate into a wetland site.
The Gold Coast council notified the Queensland Department of Environment and Science on Thursday about the leak.
Resident Steve Jeffery says “this catchment used to be alive, but It’s all blocked now. It has absolutely become an environmental catastrophe.”
The contamination is likely to be grey water, which has the potential to turn septic or breed micro-organisms.
The worst flu seasons in Queensland
Authorities continue to warn people to take precautions with nearly 65,000 confirmed flu cases recorded.
More than 2930 people have been admitted to hospital throughout Queensland, 285 of those in intensive care.
Health Minister Steven Miles says, " every death is one too many. These were Queenslanders with families and loved ones and prevention has to be a priority for all of us.
The water crisis in Warwick and Stanthorpe
Drought-stricken farmers desperate for a further cash injection to keep businesses alive will have to wait a little longer as the Morrison government weighs its next move.
On Thursday, they head to the Queensland towns of Warwick and Stanthorpe where water supplies are dwindling and paddocks remain scorched after ongoing drought.
Treasurer Josh Frydenberg told reporters "This is a crisis and as one family member said to [him] me before, this is the community's GFC plus some,"
Changes in Brisbane cycling black spot
Major changes are being proposed for a cycling black spot in inner-city Brisbane after 27 riders have been injured in the past 5 years.
Brisbane City Council proposes removing 115 car spaces, installing traffic lights, changing bus stations, building pedestrian refuges and reducing the speed limit along Dornoch Terrace.
Local Greens councillor Jonothan Sri invited most of the proposals and had ideas for other seconds.
