New restrictions for electric scooters are set to be trialled in Brisbane
In a bid to prevent e-scooter related injury, the Brisbane City Council has introduced new measures in a six month trial.
From the first of December e-scooters will be locked between midnight and 5am in known party districts like Fortitude valley. Speed limits will also be reduced during this time for the rest of the CBD.
Councillor Ryan Murphy says, “This is about making sure people don't make a mistake that will cause them life-long consequences.”
NZ will aim to contain not eliminate Covid
After a three and a half month lockdown in Auckland, New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern will adopt a new Covid-19 response.
The new strategy will take place from the 2nd December, and aims to contain rather than eliminate the virus.
Ms Ardern said, “The hard truth is Delta is here and not going away.”
This decision comes as Air New Zealand cancelled one thousand flights to Australia as border restrictions remain uncertain.
Multiple European cities took to the streets over the weekend in protest of Covid measures
145 people were arrested in the Netherlands over three days. Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte criticised the demonstration describing it as “violence under the guise of protest”.

Film Review: Venom: Let There Be Carnage presented by Sony Pictures
I attended the Sony Pictures preview of Venom: Let There Be Carnage last night at Event Cinemas Garden City. Whilst I was reminded of the fact that I have a bit of catching up to do with the Marvel cinematic universe (the last time I saw Venom on screen was in Spider-Man 3) I was still able to piece together the story and thoroughly enjoyed this sci-fi action adventure film.

Heavy machinery work on a Bundaberg creek has environmentalists concerned for the safety of the sea turtles who are frequenting the area for mating season.
The work on the well known turtle nesting site is being criticised as it is taking place during the middle of turtle nesting season.
Sea Turtle Alliance President Ainsley Gatley says this work will make it difficult for turtles to lay their eggs and for hatchlings to dig to the surface.
