Is Tiktok reinforcing a positive attitude towards vaping and e-cigarette usage?
That’s according to the University of Queensland’s National Centre of Youth Substance Use Research, who have analysed the portrayal of vaping and e-cigarette usage on Tiktok videos.

A 10km link on the Sunshine Motorway is a key section identified for an upgrade to accommodate population growth.

Columbian protesters topple statue
Protesters in Colombia have toppled a statue of Christopher Columbus in the coastal city of Barranquilla. The demonstrations were originally against tax reforms that its government said would be key to handling the country's economic crisis – reforms its president has since withdrawn.
However the protest movement has grown to include calls for improvements to the country's pension, health and education systems.

Riverside land purchased for Olympics
The Brisbane City Council and state government will purchase Riverside land at South Brisbane for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner confirmed the seven hectares of land on Montague Road will host the Games’ International Broadcasting Centre, and would later become a parkland site.

New Bill proposed to help migrant workers
A new bill has been proposed by the Federal Government which aims to eliminate exploitation of migrant workers from employers in the form of an agricultural visa.
The proposed bill will incorporate civil penalties and criminal offences to protect workers from threats on their immigration status or being forced to accept work that breaches their visa conditions.
