Da Vinci Xi the robotic surgery assistant
A robotic surgical assistant called Da Vinci Xi arrived at North West Private Hospital in Everton Park. The assistant robot helps empower surgeons with minimally invasive surgical procedures including urology and gynaecology.
Couple denied to see newborn baby
A couple had their request to see their newborn baby denied by Queensland Health authorities, despite both parents being fully vaccinated and testing negative for the virus multiple times.
New mother Sarah Haider arrived in Brisbane on May 26, but three days later required an emergency C-section at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
Queenslanders lose $32 million in scams
Queenslanders lost more than $32 million dollars to scams conducted during the 2020 global pandemic according to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC).
In its Targeting Scams Report, the ACCC found those falling victim to the scams lost around $8,000 dollars on average and had the highest average losses nationally.
Victoria records two new COVID cases.
Victoria recorded two locally acquired COVID cases linked to the outbreak, which were discovered in tests conducted at state-run sites on Monday.
In its efforts to combat the virus, the Victorian government delivered over 21,000 vaccination doses at medical centres across the state.

A plea for volunteers as number of wild animals rise
The Wildlife Volunteers Association Incorporated is calling for more volunteers as the number of injured wild animals has continued to rise in the Sunshine Coast Region.
Vice chairperson, Donna Brennan, says the rise is linked to the region’s rapid development, with the organisation receiving 1,000 additional calls in the past year.
