City Cycle Removal Commences

Over the next ten months City Cycle will be phased out of Brisbane to make way for an increase in electric bikes and e-scooters. 

As users of the once popular City Cycle have diminished the council have made preparations since the start of the year to repeal the service. As of this morning it was announced that cycle station removals will begin commencement.   

Prime Minister Rejects JobKeeper Reinstatement

Prime Minister Scott Morrison has conceded there have been “significant challenges” faced by the vaccination rollout, but rejects calls to reinstate JobKeeper. 

Calls for the federal government to reinstate the JobKeeper wage subsidy scheme have been growing with almost half of all Australians under lockdown across the country. 

The Mt Gravatt Show Returns

One of Brisbane’s oldest exhibitions is on again this weekend with the Mt Gravatt Show returning for its 105th year. 

The Mt Gravatt show was cancelled last year for the first time since WWII, as it joined the likes of the Ekka as another major drawcard that fell victim to the pandemic.

Palaszczuk Prolongs Tokyo Visit

Annastacia Palaszczuk has confirmed she will attend the opening ceremony at the Tokyo Olympics after Olympic Committee President John Coates insisted the politician prolong her visit. 

Annastacia Palaszczuk previously said she would not be attending the ceremony after more than one hundred and thirty-two thousand Australians expressed concerns about the premiers' Tokyo visit.
