Senyawa: Alkisa
<p><span><span>- There’s a fair chance that every project Indonesian experimental duo Senyawa will pack in ideas and approaches to music you’ve never previously heard. In fact, instrumentalist <strong>Wukir Suryadi</strong>’s hand-built homemade bamboo instruments essentially guarantee that. Those ever-interesting instruments meet vocalist <strong>Rully Shabara</strong>’s expansive vocal palette which ranges from throat-signing to doom metal howls and make for a powerful combination.</span></span></p>
Karate Boogaloo: KB's Mixtape #3
<p><span><span>- Coburg’s spaghetti western cowboys are back. Karate Boogaloo burst onto the scene back in 2018 with an idea so awesomely simple and obviously brilliant you might think they came up with it at music school for an assignment. What if we re-constructed live orchestrations of all the golden-era funk that was sampled on all our favourite golden-era hiphop records?
Kaidi Tatham: An Insight To All Minds
<p><span><span>- Kaidi Tatham has released a new album titled <em>An Insight To All Minds</em>. A stalwart of the UK music scene, Tatham was a member of the <strong>The Herbaliser</strong>'s live band in the '90s, <strong>Bugz In The Attic</strong> and one of the architects of the broken-beat scene, in addition to doing session work with a staggering list of musicians. His sound is distinctive, incorporating elements of jazz, hip-hop, jazz and dance music to great effect.</span></span></p>

UQ Researchers develop childhood obesity prediction
Researchers at the University of Queensland say they have developed a way to accurately predict childhood obesity. The newly-validated i-PATHWAY model uses risk factors and weight statistics from a baby’s first 12 months to predict the likelihood of a child becoming obese by 8 to 9 years old. The development is a step forward in Australia’s efforts to fight childhood obesity as the government report that in 2017 - 18, a quarter of children and adolescents were overweight and one in twelve were obese.
