World Science Festival returns to Brisbane
After being cancelled last year due to COVID-19, the World Science Festival is set to return to Brisbane next month running from 24th to 28th of March.
The Queensland Museum Chief Executive Dr Jim Thomson said there will be something for everyone, with more than 120 events being held across Brisbane locations.
Events are set to be held anywhere from Mount Coot-tha to the Queen Street Mall, Kingston to Carindale, West End to Fortitude Valley, the Queensland Cultural Centre and more, says Queensland Arts Minister Leeanne Enoch.
Brisbane residents flock to rural towns
Brisbane city lockdowns due to the pandemic has seen an increase in residents moving to rural towns.
According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, 11,207 people were recorded in capital cities in the September 2020 quarter.

The ‘To The Point’ Festival on Saturday saw the likes of Amy Shark, The Cat Empire, and The Beautiful Girls play onstage after what has been a very trying period for artists and musicians.

The famous Skywhale hot air balloon has finally got a companion as the pair fly over Canberra.
Artist Patricia Piccinini has unveiled the seven-storey tall sculpture, titled Skywhalepapa, as part of her piece for the National Gallery of Australia.
Al Jazeera journalist freed from Egyptian jail
Mahmoud Hussein, a journalist for Qatar’s Al Jazeera, has been freed after four years in an Egyptian jail.
According to Al Jazeera, Hussein was being held without formal charges nor trial. Detainees can be held in pre-trial for up to two years, in line with Egyptian laws, however authorities regularly prolong the periods.
Himalayan glacier devastates Uttarakhand district
At least 200 people have gone missing after a Himalayan glacier crashed into a river, in northern India.
The glacier caused a torrent that tore through two power plants and swept away roads and bridges.

Search Continues for Man lost at sea at Broadbeach
A Woman has drowned overnight, and a search is still underway for a man believed to still be missing in the ocean, with aerial crews resuming their search this morning.
The couple were last seen at Broadbeach entering the surf at nine twenty pm yesterday.
Anyone with information regarding the couple are urged to contact authorities.
A hazardous surf warning is in place for the south-east coast, which is likely to last through the weekend.
