Lebanon is facing crisis as hospitals are reaching full capacity, and they are unable to treat coronavirus patients as the recent Beirut blast still requires patients to be in care.  

Health minister Hamad Hassan says public and private hospitals in the capital have very limited capacity whether in terms of beds in intensive care units or respirators. 

Hassan is urging authorities to employ a two week lockdown to control the spread of the virus. 

The Brazilian city Porto Velho has faced a large bushfire that threatens to spread to the Amazon rainforest. 

Residents of the city were plagued by the fires spreading in the dry bush, waiting for firefighters to arrive on the scene to help control the damage.

In a new finding among Australia’s waste disposal, it was identified two titanic size loads of single-use plastic are believed to end up in Australia’s oceans and environment every year.  

Environmental group, World Wide Fund Australia (WWF), estimates 130,000 tonnes of this plastic is leaked into the water environment every year.

New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has postponed the election by four weeks due to Auckland’s COVID 19 outbreak. 

The election that was due to commence on 19th September has now been pushed back to 17th October, as the country faces its first case of coronavirus in over 100 days.
