Substance Found on Plane at Sydney Airport
NSW fire crews are investigating a white substance found on an American Airlines plane after it touched down in Sydney this morning.
The unusual substance was found when luggage was being unloaded from the plane.
NSW Fire & Rescue crews will liaise with the airport's fire crews and the Australian Border Force regarding their findings.
Queensland Pizza Hut Store Owner Fined $215,000 for Exploiting Delivery Driver
The owner of a Pizza Hut on the Gold Coast has been ordered to pay over $215,000 in fines and compensation, for the exploitation of a delivery driver and for falsifying his records.
The Federal Circuit Court, after the Fair Work Ombudsman, took action for 20 year old Humit Vijan.
The Pizza Hut owner had Mr Vijan listed as an independent contractor, drastically underpaying him and forcing him to borrow money from his family in India to pay for rent.
Mr Vijian has been paid back the estimated $7,000 he was owed by the franchise.
Pedestrians Group Wants 30km/h Speed Limits for Brisbane
The death of a woman in Logan this week has prompted the Pedestrian Council of Australia to call for reduced speed limits in built-up areas.
The pedestrian group wants 30 km/h speed limits in Brisbane and across the state, following an increase of pedestrian deaths from 14 in 2017 to 16 this year.
Chairman Harold Scruby, said the call wasn’t about taking away the responsibility of pedestrians, but about bringing Queensland speed limits in line with other countries.
