The owners of the iconic Queen Street Mall newsstand have been evicted after operating there for over 35 years.

The owner, Ross Peterson, says he is devastated that the council confirmed in writing he would be forced to leave on the 31st of May.

The council met with Mr Peterson to confirm it’s development plan for the area which includes demolishing the newsagency.

Diplomatic tensions have been intensified as Immigration Minister, Peter Dutton claimed Australia’s stance on white farmers in South Africa was misrepresented.

Policing are responding to a shooting at the YouTube space in San Bruno.

Some employees were able to escape the building and an unknown number of victims have been taken to San Francisco General Hospital.

Twitter was used to by trapped YouTube employees to communicate with authorities, one staffer Tweeted, “First thought it was earthquake … [then] I looked down and saw blood drips on the floor and stairs.”

A french mayor has apologised for her April fools joke claiming Ikea was coming to town and bringing over 4,000 new jobs.

The town of 54,000 were not happy with the mayor taking to social media to express their anger towards the joke.

An unauthorised climber on the Sydney Harbour Bridge has forced police to shut numerous lanes on the bridge, causing severe traffic delays in both directions.

A police spokeswoman says multiple reports were received around 4:30am this morning and negotiations with the man are ongoing.

The Traffic Management Centre have warned motorists saying, “It doesn’t look like it’s going to have a quick resolution … it’s basically going to throw peak into chaos for anyone coming into the Sydney CBD.”

Residents along the Queensland coastline are being warned of wild weather following Tropical Cyclone Iris.

Drug companies are being investigated after allegedly using the codeine crackdown as an opportunity to sell stronger painkillers to doctors.

The companies are sending targeted advertising to doctors for stronger pain medication in an effort to encourage them to sell their products.

The suggested new medications are twice as strong as the codeine painkiller Pandaeine Forte.
