The music of Tawa Drive, the solo project from Kiwi multi-instrumentalist Evan Scrimgeour, combines nostalgic acoustic warmth with hazy dream-pop ambience. Formed in 2024, named after the singer’s hometown street in Aotearoa and inspired by indie favourites such as The Postal Service and Alvvays, the now-Meanjin based outfit features bassist/vocalist Samara Nilsen, drummer Will FitzGerald, and guitarist Damian Broodryk in its lineup.

Hailing from Brisbane, Australia, The Levons are a blues rock band formed in the mid 2000s. Their music draws from the deep well of classic blues, infusing it with a contemporary rock energy that creates a sound that's both familiar and fresh.
