Dr. Heather Anderson's TedX Talk is Now Live!

A couple months back, Dr. Heather Anderson was a speaker at the TEDxBrisbane. Her talk, "Why Minority Ideas Change The World" explored the power of community radio to promote social justice. The talk has now been published and is available to watch!

As a long time Zed volunteer, community media scholar and journalist whose work examines how alternative media creates spaces for voices excluded in mainstream narratives. It was such an insightful and inspiring talk!

Dr. Heather Anderson's book, People Powered Radio, has been shortlisted for the Queensland Literary Awards Lord Mayor's People's Choice Award!

People Powered Radio captures the oral and archival histories of 4ZZZ, taking you through the station's subversive roots in the 1970s to its present day digital renaissance. The rich and deeply researched book documents the lasting contributions that 4ZZZ has made to promoting independent music, producing alternative news and fostering community.

The first edition of the 4ZZZ x Season Three Takeover as curated by Pale Interior is here!

Handpicked by Dane and Klaire who host the program, the amazing lineup features Blind Girls, hotchkiss and yorohaerte. It will be a huge celebration of Meanjin's DIY community and the local screamo bands at the core of Pale Interior.

Zed Games Indie Dev Night at Netherworld

Zed Games and Netherworld are bringing an assortment of locally developed games to the karaoke rooms "Lost Souls" on the 13th of August from 6-9pm.

To celebrate Radiothon, this totally free event will also include live music by Esther Skyscraper - performing on the Gameboy.

We also have a special poster up for sale, filled with 4ZZZ and gaming references, and the games showcasing.

The Sounds Like Community Radio line-up has landed!

4ZZZ and AMRAP are excited to host another incredible afternoon of celebrating community radio with the artists who are shaping Australia’s independent music scene.

This year's lineup features Milly Strange, Djawarray, Public Figures, Say True God?, Super Hotel and Joey Leigh Wagtail. So, save the date for Wednesday 2nd September from 1-6pm.
