Sisi Sparkle, co-host of Megaherzzz and long-time volunteer at 4ZZZ recently ventured off to Spain. As apart of her journey’s, she got the chance to do backstage interviews at Primavera Festival in Barcelona for 4ZZZ!

Sisi sat down with Bestia Bebe, an Argentinian band and Aiko el Group, a high-energy Madrid band to discuss all things from radio culture in different countries to their Primaveera set and new releases.

We have made a few changes to our subscription tiers that came into effect July 1st. There is no longer a household subscription, and we are reactivating our ‘Community Organisation’ for not-for-profit organisations, community groups and charities. 

We are also changing our existing subscription model to incorporate a fixed annual membership fee ($40), set at the price of our concession subscription. Any remaining portion will be invoiced as a tax deductible donation.

In exciting news, a massive congratulations to Tabatha Saunders who is our new First Nations Community Engagement Coordinator! 

You may have heard Tabatha across the 4ZZZ airwaves as the host of Soul-Jah Sistars and around as a long-term volunteer at the station. It is a huge honour to welcome her to the team and we can’t wait to see where she goes with this role.

This month we’re spotlighting Chestr as our volunteer highlight! 

They help everything run smoothly behind the scenes on Right Here, Right Now and on our live reviews team. As you can imagine, having a band play live to air each week is no small feat and can often be a hectic environment. We’re so grateful to have someone so talented as a part of the 4ZZZ team! 

We asked Chestr some questions about their volunteer journey at 4ZZZ, give them a read!

What made you want to volunteer at 4ZZZ?

Our very own, Brody Hayes won Volunteer of the Year and PROUD awards at the 65th Annual Queens Ball over the weekend!

Brody is the co-coordinator of Queer Radio, Zed Digital host for Static Mindzzz and 4ZZZ Accessibility Coordinator for 4ZZZ. Outside of 4ZZZ, they also deliver LGBTQIA+ training and consultancy. Their work amplifies voices, educates organisations, and strengthens community understanding and inclusion.
