Melbourne City Backs Black Parliament Proposal

There are plans underway for a First Nations precinct in Melbourne. 

Melbourne City Council and the First Peoples of Victoria are backing a proposal for a multimillion- dollar development in the heart of the CBD that could house the nation’s first “Black Parliament” and become a keeping place for repatriated artefacts and serve as a symbol of reconciliation. 

Morrison Calls For Action Against Trolls At G20 Summit

Prime Minister Scott Morrison is calling for action against online trolls in an effort to  toughen regulation on social media. 

Mr Morrison is urging countries including the United States and the UK to call on Facebook and other social media platforms to reveal the anonymous trolls who harass people online. 

Fears Of Overshooting Climate Targets Despite Promises of Reduced Emissions

There are growing fears the world is set to overshoot climate targets despite promises to reduce emission targets from 120 countries. 

An annual UN Emissions Gap report shows the world is on track to hit 2.7 degrees Celsius of warming by the year 2100, with 2021 expecting to be a record-high year for global emissions as economies attempt to bounce back from COVID-19.
