Palaszczuk announces 54 First Nations ranger roles
Queensland Premier Anastasia Palaszczuk reaffirms the ongoing recognition of Indigenous knowledge and connection, announcing 54 First Nations rangers for 13 communities across Queensland.
The Environment Minister Meaghan Scanlon says the government will invest $24 million to help First Nations organisations foster the next generation of community leaders.

Diving Australia Recruiting for the 2032 Olympics
Diving Australia is chasing the next generation of champions and are recruiting athletes as young as eight for the Brisbane 2032 Olympics.
Diving Australia’s national pathway coach Vyninka Arlow says Diving Australia is testing more than 200 children in Brisbane which will narrow the field to around 40 young athletes.
Ms Arlow says despite the minimum age requirement of the Olympic Games, many of the young hopefuls recruited this year will start international competitions long before Brisbane 2032.

Australian Tax Office Wont Pursue Jobkeeper Repayment
The Australian Tax Office won't pursue the repayment of JobKeeper funds from businesses that made a mistake in claiming the wage subsidy.
ATO Commissioner Chris Jordan says “We have determined not to pursue $180 million, mostly from small businesses, where there have been honest mistakes,”

Chinese academic accuses government of not being transparent
A Chinese academic Chen Hong is accusing the Australian government of not being transparent about his Visa which was rejected on national security grounds.
This comes one year after the disclosure of an alleged plot by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to infiltrate New South Wales Parliament through the office of Labor backbencher Shaoquett Moselmane, using his former staffer John Zhang.
Mr Hong says he is sometimes critical of some of Australia's policies but his intention is to "eliminate misunderstanding".
North Korea carries out long range missile tests
North Korea is claiming it has carried out more long-range cruise missile tests over the weekend amid a standoff with the United States over denuclearisation.
According to a media outlet KCNA, the missiles flew 1500km before hitting their targets and falling into the water.
The state outlet believes “strategic significance of possessing another effective deterrence means for more reliably guaranteeing the security of our state and strongly containing the military manoeuvres of the hostile forces”.

Program launched to teach inmates graphic design
A Brisbane not for profit organisation has launched a program to teach inmates graphic design and 3D animation, preparing them for employment opportunities on the outside.
A partnership, between the Department of Energy and Public Works and Green Fox Studio provides graphic design training and work opportunities for prisoners at the Borallon Training and Correctional Centre.
Green Fox Studio’s program is first of its kind in Australia, aiming at improving employment opportunities for inmates when they are released.
Mandatory Vaccinations for Health Workers
Queensland Health Workers must get at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine by September 30 and be fully immunised by the end of October.
Health Minister Yvette D'Ath says measures will be taken to address unvaccinated health workers.
She believes while 80 per cent of the state's health workforce is vaccinated, more health professionals need to get jabbed
