Brisbane Bus Review

The Brisbane City Council is about to begin its planned review of the city’s Bus Services but is being met with resistance from the State.

This review comes in tandem with 4 petitions from 356 residents for a review of the areas bus services.

However, Translink has declined to jointly fund the review with the city council for a second time, the first time being rebuked due to the Commonwealth Games but since then has not cited a reason for the refusal.

Bloods: Feelings

- BLOODS’ sophomore record, Feelings, is a blazing supernova of sugar punk glory which wouldn’t feel out of place playing while the end credits roll on Ten Things I Hate About You. The ten tracks harness the irresistible power of early 2000’s pop-punk, glazing it with the sticky sweetness of front woman MC‘S vocal hooks.

Primitive Man / Unearthly Trance: Split

- Please exit stage left if you’re after a metal record that boasts thrilling, bloody bumping passages, fire brand virtuosity, and so many complex time signatures you’ll need a masters degree in mathematics to look at it. This split won’t be for you. For me, however, it’s everything I want in a metal record done to a stomach rupturing tee.

Mitski: Be The Cowboy

- It was perhaps the 2014 release of third album Bury Me At Makeout Creek which truly heralded the arrival of Mitski Miyawaki, the Japanese-American singer/songwriter musician who stepped back from her classical piano training to re-introduce herself as a raw guitar indie-pop practitioner.

The Gametes: The Astronomical Calamities Of Comet Jones

-The Astronomical Calamities Of Comet Jones is the debut album from The Gametes: a Brisbane four piece who have been causing a bit of a stir locally with their their mix of energetic post punk and bizarre humour. It’s not necessarily the easiest thing to do, but the band have done a good job of capturing both those aspects on tape.
