Liberal National MP, George Christensen, is said to be under pressure from Barnaby Joyce to reconsider his retirement which was announced in April.
Reports say Joyce is anxious about reinforcing the National's position in the party room. Christensen confirmed the calls from his co-workers to continue his political role but also said the situation would not change and he would not contest in the next election.

Energy Minister Angus Taylor, has appointed a former Quadrant Energy Head, Katherine Vidgen as a clean energy regulator to help reduce emissions and reduction goals.
Quadrant Energy is one of the largest independent exporters of oil and gas in Western Australia and was sold in 2018 for 2.1 billion US dollars.
The decision to allocate Vidgen as regular has been criticized by officials, especially after the 3 grants worth $51 Million were awarded to Beetaloo Basin, a political donor and known Liberal-linked company last week.

University of Queensland researchers are developing a treatment that could potentially benefit critically ill patients with sepsis or acute respiratory distress syndrome.
If successful, it could reduce deaths and decrease the amount of time patients spend in the hospital.
Man Caught Evading Queensland's Border Restrictions
Co-founder of Atomos and former chief executive, Jeromy Young, has been identified as the man caught evading Queensland’s border restrictions after sailing in his super yacht from Sydney to the Gold Coast and attending a rugby game last Wednesday with 3 other people aboard.
Queensland Health noticed inconsistencies with their border passes and have now placed the group in Quarantine and given each a $4000 fine.

The United States President, Joe Biden, has said the US is facing the biggest threat to fair elections in its history as the Republican Party pushes to tighten voting laws and make it harder for Americans to vote.
Republican-led states, Georgia, Texas, and Florida have all proposed or are passing laws to limit postal ballots which were a contributing factor to Biden’s success in the 2020 Presidential election.
Prime Minister Morrison Confident the NSW Government will get on Top of COVID Testing
Prime Minister Scott Morrison says he is confident that the NSW Government "will get on top" of a new coronavirus testing regime which has led to thousands of cars queuing for hours at a southwest Sydney testing site just to be able to work.
Lines at the 24-hour testing hub at Fairfield showground have been growing overnight as essential workers rush to get tests so they can keep up with new NSW Health orders.
The new orders require essential workers who live in the Fairfield region to get tested every three days and prove they have a negative result for work.
Brisbane Festival and River set to return in 2021
The Australian Council of Social Service has said that the New South Wales’ lockdown support package announced on Tuesday excludes people on the lowest incomes.
It comes after it was found that almost 4 hundred thousand people in Greater Sydney are on income support payments like JobSeeker that are below the poverty line.
ACCC CEO Dr. Cassandra Goldie said that “While they welcome that the increased disaster payments will help many people on low and modest incomes during lockdown, those on the lowest incomes are being left to face destitution and homelessness.”

Brisbane Festival and Riverfire are set to return in 2021 after its hiatus in 2020.
Organizers have promised the September event will make up for lost time as this year's festival will have performances involving musical acts, dance numbers, and more.
Festival Artistic Director Louise Bezzina said, "It is really celebrating coming together all of the wonderful things we love and adore."
