Icon status crocodile found in Port Douglas
A 4.5metre iconic crocodile has been caught by wildlife officers north of Port Douglas after it was found swimming around with a crab pot stuck on its head.
Crocodiles longer than four metres are granted icon status in Queensland and can only be relocated to a registered farm or zoo that agrees to use it for educational purposes.
Organisation for isolated Youth faces lack of funding
The Running Wild organisation, which operates in the Southern Moreton Bay Islands delivering community activities to help isolated and disengaged youth, is facing threats due to lack of funding.
The organisation runs on a collective impact model, meaning that it uses different groups and individuals in the community such as community gardens, local restaurants and clubs, with its hospitality and conservation traineeships.
